A 6-week cohort for women serving cross-culturally

An Invitation for You

Many of us have been well-trained to navigate crisis, trauma, and loss.
But very few of us have been taught how to recognize, receive, and retain joy.

Because of how our brains are wired, we naturally hold onto pain more easily than goodness. Over time, this can quietly erode our ability to experience delight, gratitude, and even the joy that first drew us to this work.

This cohort is an invitation to gently reclaim what has been lost.

Together, we will explore the neuroscience of joy, the spiritual practice of noticing goodness, and the intentional work of helping joy “stick.” Through guided exercises, shared reflection, and practical rhythms, you will learn how to hold onto life-giving moments—even in complex and demanding environments.

This cohort will include:

  • Teaching from Denise Beck and others on how the brain processes trauma and joy
  • Simple, repeatable practices that help joy take root
  • Guided reflection and community conversation
  • A supportive space with women who understand cross-cultural life

This is not about pretending things are easy or ignoring pain. It is about building the capacity to also hold onto what is beautiful, good, and life-giving.

And as you begin to reclaim joy, you may find it does not stop with you.

It will ripple outward—shaping your relationships, softening your presence, and quietly influencing your family, your team, and the communities you serve.

Frequently Asked Questions

This cohort is designed for women serving cross-culturally who long to reconnect with joy, goodness, delight, and hope in the midst of demanding or complex seasons. Whether you are thriving, weary, grieving, numb, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here.

Each week will include a live call at 9:00 AM ET (13:00 UTC) with teaching, guided reflection, practical exercises, and community conversation. There will also be simple practices to experiment with between sessions to help joy become more tangible and sustainable in everyday life.

In addition to the 1-hour weekly Zoom sessions, you may want 15–30 minutes during the week for reflection or practicing some of the suggested exercises.

Yes, sessions will be recorded for participants who cannot attend live. But the richest experience will be from attending the live sessions each week.

The cohort is intentionally limited to 20 participants in order to foster meaningful conversation, connection, and care.

Because space is limited, the application helps us create a cohort that is supportive, intentional, and a good fit for the experience being offered for women serving cross-culturally.
