We have an Advent invitation for you, because we know you don’t want to hustle and bustle your way through December. We know that in the bright cheeriness of the Christmas season, you need Advent. You need space for the ache, for the longing. You need time to sit in stillness with the One for whom your soul waits.
It’s that irony? That we wait for the coming of the One who is already present to us. We wait for him to come and make broken things new, we wait for him to come and take away pain and sickness and suffering and evil. In the waiting, he is already present to us. And in this waiting we get to interact with him.
In this interaction with God, we have questions for him. Bring your questions for God. Bring your longing. Bring yourself.
Bring a journal, a Bible, and a candle if you’ve got one. This mini-retreat is Velvet Ashes’ cherished Advent tradition, and it’s our gift to you.
