Friendship Journal Prompts
- When you think of a “good friend”, what comes to mind?
- Write about a time when a friend was a blessing to you.
- Write about any longings for friendship that are still unmet.
- Take time to think about the effort required to keep a friendship alive, meaningful, and healthy. With names and faces in mind, write down what that would look like for you.
- How have your passport culture friendships changed since I left?
- What is hard about that for you?
- What has been good about that?
- What are your desires for local friendships?
- Write about an ideal moment that has either already happened or that you long for in the future as it pertains to local friendships.
- Brainstorm ideas you could do this month to take your local friendships to the next level.
- Expat friendships can be a source of life and encouragement. Write down the ways you have been blessed by expat friendships.
- The gift of your friendship may be needed by expats near you. What are some ways you can bless others who are foreigners in your host country?
- Team friendships can be complicated. What were some unrealistic expectations you had of team friendships.
- Although complicated, team relationships are also important. Brainstorm some ways you can grow the relationships on your team. What would make them feel loved by you?
- As a single woman, what do you wish your married friends knew about how to be a good friend to you?
- As a married woman what do you wish single women knew about being a good friend to you?
- Write about any tension or change that being on support has caused in your friendships.
